This mini collection that I call Owl Core is an offshoot of a former collection I called BirdCore. BirdCore was inspired by a meditation I had that addressed my inner emptiness and asked me to think about what fulfills me.
In order to answer that question I not only embarked upon the BirdCore art series but also wrote a poem to go along with each piece. I published the BirdCore artwork with the poems into a book which you will receive along with your free print.
Owl Core continues the quest for fulfillment in a more specific vein. As representatives of wisdom, these four owls stand in their respective directions in an attempt to fill a gaping void.

About Juliana Brandon
Juliana is a multi dimensional artist born and bred in Seattle where she focuses on what she calls "The Trifecta" of art forms: poetry, pattern, and puppet opera. After gaining notoriety as the area's premier alternative operatic soprano (Operadisiac and Paper Puppet Opera) she has been rekindling her original love of drawing and painting. In 2015 she painted a giant astronaut statue for Museum of Flight’s Astronauts on the Town fundraiser. Since then most of her drawing skills have been used in the service of making shadow puppets, but the act of cutting paper has also expanded her imagination. Recently Juliana discovered the joy of collage, but with a twist: she only uses patterned papers, like a quilter, and then draws over the top of them in her quasi-folk style. Juliana's poetry and prose take inspiration from the occult teachings her mother steeped her in, as well as from her own meditation practice. Her book, Winter From Above, is the product of these meditations, featuring a conversation with the ghost of Franz Schubert that covers reasons for physical incarnation through a humorous, sensual, and visually resplendent lens. Juliana brings this kind of spirit to her original art works, art prints, books, and even puppet shows for anyone who considers themselves to be a divine child at heart.
